What happens at this event?
In just one day, you will learn how to create a magnificent sourdough loaf in our hands-on bread-making workshop.
Your tutor, Gio, is a fifth generation baker in his family, who learned his skills in the family bakery in Pollena Trocchia, Naples, at his Grandmother's knee.
He will teach you how to make and care for a sourdough starter and loaf from scratch. Then, using the discards, you will bake sourdough scones, grissini (breadsticks), and sourdough chocolate chip cookies.
This class is suitable for all abilities and starts at 11am, finishing around 3.30pm.

It was an enjoyable and very informative course. I have attempted to make sourdough bread on numerous occasions but without success. Gio showed me the mistakes I was making and how to rectify them, but in a way that was easy to learn and remember. I would thoroughly recommend this course to anybody starting out baking sourdough or who has tried and failed in the past.

I thought the sourdough bread day was absolutely brilliant. Giovani and his wife were very helpful and informative. Nothing was too much trouble they shared their knowledge and gave a brief history lesson as well. Came away with a better understanding of sour dough and some fabulous sourdough bread for my family to try . . The lunch was very disappointing . (I think it was a vegatables quiche ) The bakery makes delicious food and it’s a shame we didn’t have a choice .
